Additional Info:	I have been a tutor for seven years. As a result, I am experienced in teaching various types of students and know different learning and study habits. I am particularly familiar with helping at-risk or struggling students that need help in basic study habits. I tutor students from middle school to college level. As a UCI graduate with a BA in English, I have been training and honing my skills in reading and thinking critically. I also have experience with writing short and long length papers, having developed complicated theses and analyzed texts. My emphasis as I studied was primarily in British literature. As such, I am able to read and make sense of dense/difficult old texts that may be a challenge to the growing mind of a student. I graduated with a 3.86 GPA, having received A's in my classes. I also was Head Editor of a campus magazine, so I'm great at noticing errors in grammar and sentence structure. I know how to communicate improvements in someone's writing. My previous experience with honors and AP English classes in high school will also be an advantage to any student and parent(s). Should the student be enrolled in such classes, I am familiar with the demands and pressures of these classes, having read the texts and know the kind of writing assignments in these classes. I received A's and B's in my high school English coursework. Additionally, my skills and interests in English have also led to my volunteer work in editing and mentoring services to young writers. I am currently also working as a freelance editor, which shows how much English is a part of my life. As a tutor, I intend to help improve on the weaknesses in English, as well as encourage a student's learning efforts. A part of the learning process will also involve my identifying the strengths in reading, writing, and thinking. In general, I am very responsive to the needs of a student and work hard to help the learning process, whether it be in reading, writing, or thinking. In general, I'm very invested in helping someone learn and develop skills necessary for the next level. In a session, I try my hardest to communicate with a student and make it a fun, but focused, learning hour(s). I am also available to tutor through email or Skype, if commuting is inconvenient, or if an online presence is more preferable. I am also willing - though this is subject to change and also depends on the student's needs - to provide both online and in-person tutoring. Please feel free to ask me any questions regarding rates, availability, and how I tutor. If there is a particular concern - such as "my student has trouble with soandso, what can you do?" - I encourage you to ask such questions, as I will readily provide answers. In fact, this is a more direct way to see how I can tutor for your student, as I am very responsive to how a student needs to learn. Locationwise: I can tutor in FV, HB, or Irvine.
Fees:	$ 30.00 Dollars Per Hour I do require that any notifications in cancellation of sessions be given to me via text, email, or phone three hours before the usual start time. I do request a late fee of $10, unless there is an emergency or some other kind of family/medical issue.
