Additional Info:	My name is Sacha Baird and I am 26 years old. I consider myself to be the perfect candidate for tutoring, due to an excellent background working with children of all ages. I graduated from the Teachers Assistant (two year diploma) course in 2006 and have been working with kids for many years. I have worked in an educational environment such as schools. When I was in college I volunteered my time at some of the local schools. Also while in college, I did two field placements, both of which were in local public schools. I helped a grade two class for the first semester and a grade four class for the second semester. Both teachers were VERY pleased with the help that I brought into their classrooms. I have worked one on one with students, I have worked in small groups, and have also taught a class in French when I was in my high school co-op class. I have created MANY different educational games (and still have them) to help struggling students and feel that with my help, they have understood the material better. People who have seen me working with students say that I shine at what I do, and that I was meant to help struggling students succeed. When it comes to helping students, I am very motivated, passionate about helping them – and finding new ways to help them each day. From 2006 – 2008, I was on the Occasional Educational Assistant list with the Upper Canada District School Board, and have worked in many different schools helping students that needed motivation; needed assistance getting around the school due to physical disabilities, have helped students struggling in specific subjects, and have worked with children with various learning/developmental difficulties. My passion in life is to help struggling students succeed because I also suffer from a learning disability, and the help that my teacher gave me motivated me to help other students. My learning difficulty also assists me in being empathetic as well as in assisting others in learning to succeed despite their disability. My most recent work experience was as a nanny. I was responsible for two children one who was nine months old at the time, and the other who was four. My main responsibilities were to take care of the children, feed them, help the four year old develop skills used in school. I am have developed and implemented various learning activities based on the children’s age and abilities. I have a personal collection of learning resources that could be used ranging from workbooks (alphabets, numbers, shapes, mathematics, English for various grade levels [K-8]) to learning flashcards. I am an energetic, hard working individual that enjoys new challenges and learns quickly. I am motivated to helping students succeed, am resourceful and creative, caring and have a responsible personality. I have a wealth of experience working with young children.
