Resume
I have been primarily self-employed and involved in Church activities. However there have been times when I have been low on money and needed some kind of job. I lived on a small inheritance for several years before I came to Maine, and I had considerable difficulty finding any kind of job because the work record is considered to be important and a Junior College degree was not enough without specialization in something work related. My father passed away about ten years before my mother passed away, and he left a small inheritance that made it possible to follow my hobbies and projects and read interlibrary loan books about them. I didnt need a job, and I preferred not to have one. When my mother passed away I was given part of the entire inheritance, and that is when I came to Maine to buy land (the spring of 1999).
I was raised in the LDS Church culture in Salt Lake City, Utah (the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints). After High School I decided to go on an LDS Church Mission. That is quite common for young men in the Church. I was sent to upstate New York, USA. After the Mission I attended a Junior College operated by the Church, in Rexburg, Idaho, called Ricks College at that time (now called Brigham Young University Idaho. A four-year school now).
I sold part of my land in Caribou, Maine the spring of 2006, and decided to attend the University of Maine at Presque Isle. I started there the fall semester of 2007 and I graduated after the fall semester of 2010 (Dec. 22, 2010) with a Bachelor of Science degree. My GPA was 3.19. My major was Environmental Studies, and the Sub-Plan was Geology. |
