Additional Info:	I am a 26 year old female who has been working as a part time private tutor in London for the last two years. During this time I have tutored over 30 students, guiding some into top London schools such as The Harrodian and Godolphin & Latymer while helping others with more general, less exam/entrance-focused improvement. Students have ranged from six years old to teenagers and adults, with widely differing academic objectives and levels. I tutor a variety of subjects at a range of levels including Primary, SATS, 11+, 13+, GCSE, AS, A Level and under/postgraduate degree, as well as to adult learners requiring support. My specialist subjects are English, Maths and Biology, though exam preparation, interview technique, essay /dissertation writing skills and personal statement writing are other areas I am happy to focus on. Before tutoring I was a full time English teacher (5 - 17 year age range) at an international school in Portugal. I also teach full time in English public schools such as Ampleforth and Prior Park College during summer holidays. My A Levels included English (A), Biology (A), Politics (A), Philosophy (A) and History (A). I graduated from St Andrews University in 2008 with a 1st class degree in English Literature. In 2010 I completed an MA at distinction level from King's College London and am currently completing a PhD, also at King's. Example assignments include: Seven regular weekly students (6-16 yrs) requiring additional support with their studies. Preparing various students for all aspects of the 11+ exams (verbal and non-verbal reasoning, comprehension, creative writing and interview technique). Guided a 35 year old through a two semester course in English literature at Cambridge University. Taught English Grammar and the entire GCSE English course to a foreign student who had recently moved to the UK. Predicated grade: C. Achieved: A. I am a friendly and enthusiastic individual with a passion for teaching and motivating people to achieve their goals. Classes with younger students involve games and focused fun to encourage them to find a subject they may be struggling in more fun and interesting. For more mature students, objectives and desired grades are outlined at the beginning and the necessary learning broken down into achievable parts. Areas of weakness are identified and worked on throughout the course of tuition. I tailor all my lessons to suit the individual, taking into account their learning styles, personalities and objectives, and mixing specific, focused study of any problematic areas with general study skills.
