PERSONAL DESCRIPTION:
I am a graduate the University of Edinburgh, having gained a BSc(Hons) in Medical Sciences Degree. Currently I am studying Medicine MBChB at the University of Glasgow. I consider myself as an approchable, friendly person willing to help and understand other's needs. I like to motivate my students and show them the amazing side of science which have fascinated me since I was a child. Additionally, I've recently started a small tutoring agency which gathers excellent and carefully selected Edinburgh-based science tutors ( mostly young scientists and doctors in training) who are given training in areas of communication skills, effective tutoring techniques and are kept up to date with Scottish and English school curricula). All of our tutors are avalaible for private home tuition in Biology, Maths, Chemistry and Physics in Edinburgh area at a rate of £25/h with no extra agency fees or travel costs.
TUTORING EXPERIENCE:
I have a considerable teaching experience (over 4 years) with pupils at the age ranging from 11-18
years old. My main areas of teaching are Biology and Chemistry at all school level. I am also happy to tutor in associated areas such as Human Biology.
TUTORING APPROACH:
I actively suport school-work as well as provide help with the exam preparation. Being a student myself I understand and recognise pupil's needs which helps me to plan the best possible tuition schedule. I am familiar with the curriculum of the courses in my teaching areas. I very much enjoy working with children and believe that hard work develops confidence and is always rewarded. Additionally, I write a revision blog for my tutees, where they can find interesting videos, animations and revision techniques to both make their learning experience more enjoyable and maximise the exam success.
