Additional Info:	I'm a female attending the University of Sydney undertaking a Bachelor of Arts with plans to do a double major in English and Film Studies. My hopes are to complete a PhD and possibly lecture Film at Universities. My finishing UAI was 92 and my strongest subjects have always been English, literature and film studies. I'm very interested in the essay writing process, most specifically the research and mental preparation it takes to compile thoughts and utilize them effectively. Although I ended with good marks to set me up for university I'm very aware of the difficulties and stresses that the HSC can bear on students, especially with the subjects they don't have a firm grasp on. I'm very motivated to focus on helping students who are struggling with English whether it be at a Kindergarten or HSC level. My favoured tutorial method is face to face as I feel it's a lot more engaging and interactive for students who can frequently become distracted in school classrooms and sometimes miss important points that could potentially broaden their understanding. My main goal in tutoring students is to make learning as captivating and interactive as possible allowing for different modes of learning. List of services: K-9 - spelling and grammar tweaking - understanding context, themes and language in texts - creative writing - sentencing and paragraphing - expressing opinion and reflective writing - class content the student is having trouble with Year 10 certificate- HSC - class theories and applications - critical analysis of texts and film - researching scholarly articles for research - essay preparation, collecting references to support evidence, executing arguments and academic essay structure - essay proof reading with thorough suggestions for improvement - academic referencing - in-class essay preparation and time management (mock essay questions can be supplied and a set time can be given to students to construct their argument. This is really helpful in building confidence) Every student will have strengths and weaknesses no matter what their level of comprehension is so it's important that the first tutor meeting be an extra 20 minutes long so I can map out a plan tailored to the individual.
Fees:	$ 40.00 Australian Dollars Per Hour I will write suggestions and correct mock up in class exams and essay drafts in my own time, returning them to the student within 48 hours including a follow up tutorial to discuss comments. I know during HSC trials time can be quite pressed so these follow ups can be conducted over the phone. An additional cost will be added for this service as it can be quite time consuming.
