Additional Info:	I teach English Language and Literature from Primary level through to Degree. I am a graduate from the University of Warwick and hold an MA and a BA (Hons) in English Literature. I have experience of providing tuition to all age groups and have taught on a variety of subjects such as Shakespeare, Chaucer and American Literature. I also work as an Education Assistant at the Chatham Dockyard where I help to deliver a range of learning sessions. I have completed work experience in local secondary schools and taken classes at Key Stage Three and GCSE level. Prior to this I provided tutoring in a variety of informal contexts, for example a proof reading service for my fellow university students. My style of tutoring is friendly and patient. I aim to push my students to uncover new ideas and notice elements of English Literature and Language that may have passed them by during their normal school learning. I also try to encourage my students to understand the pleasure that can come from reading and studying great literature. In particular I have experience of working with students with reading difficulties and helping them to overcome this barrier to learning. I have also worked with students from whom English is not their first language. I am happy to travel to give lessons when the student’s home is within five miles of Lordswood. Otherwise lessons take place at my home.
Fees:	£ 20.00 Pounds Per Hour I charge £20 an hour for lessons up to GCSE and £25 for A Level tuition. If the lesson is taking place at the home of the student then there will be an additional charge of up to £5 in order to cover travel expenses. I work on an advance payment basis. If a lesson is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice then the payment is forfeited, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
