Additional Info:	2005-2006 In 2005, I came to work for a language center in To Kwa Wan. My duties were to teach all classes, of all ages. The classes varied from Toddler Play and Learn to Grammar. The age of the children ranged from 4 to 14. Some Adult English was also conducted. The preparation of the classes was all to be done by me. In late 2005 the center was closed, and I continued to teach some of the students privately. I did mostly private tutoring, from 2yo to adults. 2006 Still continuing private tutoring of all ages, in late 2006 I was hired by York Education, as a contractor instructor. Here I had to teach extra curricular classes for primary schools. 2007 In 2007 I received more projects from York Education in the first half of the year, and did some private lessons on the side. In summer I was able to teach classes at learning centers, primary schools and secondary schools. In September 2007 I was promoted to VP of School Liaisons, and still hold that position at present. In order to get familiar with the school systems, I worked at a primary school as a NET. My job duties are to make quotations for primary and secondary schools, to hire teachers, manage programs, and train English Captains for secondary schools. Of course administrative duties are included. I also taught drama to children of all ages, through curriculums of the Helen ‘O Grady method. 2008-2009 In 2008 I was still working for York. I also did a lot of free-lance work for companies such as Headstart, One World Learning Centre, Prince English School, Talent Educational Services, etc. This allowed me to gain even more experience in classroom management, teaching in general, and teaching of different subjects, such as: Drama, Phonics, Cambridge, etc. In the beginning of 2009 I worked on commission for a service provider, selling programs, and as a part-time merchandising manager for a hat company (garment/accessories). Due to restructuring of the company, my position had become redundant. I then worked free-lance for several education providers and centers. 2010-2012 From 2000-2012 I was working in a study center in Hang Hau, as a part-time NET, where I was employed in January 2010. In 2012 I came to work for a language school in Hung Hom making curricula and teaching. 2013-2015: I still tutor students of all ages., and work for several service providers. Personal Profile My full name is Jeroen Duran. Since it’s difficult to pronounce, I am called JD for short. I moved to Hong Kong in 2005. I have a wife and son, and we live in Sai Kung. In December 2007 I took the TESOL examination, to enrich my teaching qualifications. I passed at grade B. Teaching is like studying; you learn every day. We teach our children, but they teach us too. As children are our future, it’s crucial that we teach them well. With the correct attitude and experience, learning and teaching can be fun! It is my professional opinion that if the children do not have fun, they will forget so much easier. Newly learned teaching skills include Neuro Linguistic Programming. My personal hobbies are languages, playing guitar, and reading. Notes: Always dressed properly when teaching.
