Additional Info:	I hold a PhD in Experimental Neuroscience and have been teaching post-secondary students for over 10 years, as well as tutoring high school students for 3 years. My undergraduate degree was in zoology, including advanced-level work in math, chemistry, psychology, and biology. I am currently available to tutor sciences and math, from elementary through high school up to early post-secondary levels (first- or second-year university). ESL, mature and upgrading students are certainly welcome! I am based in Maple Ridge, and prefer to conduct tutoring sessions at the Maple Ridge or Pitt Meadows Public Library. Home tutoring can then be arranged in most cases after the first session. Please be aware that for the safety and security of all students under 18 years old I do insist on the presence of another adult (e.g. parent/guardian, adult sibling or other relative, adult neighbour) during any home tutoring sessions for such students. Expect our first session to be spent on working out what level you're at in the material you're working with, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and discussing what goals you'd like to achieve by hiring me as a tutor... and how we can work together to achieve them! From there on out, a typical session is spent working through problematic homework questions or preparing for specific tests, explaining and working through key concepts as we go. However, I am also available to teach new material to more advanced students who'd like to skip ahead of their class work or prepare for the next level.
Fees:	$ 40.00 Canadian Dollars Per Hour Regularly-scheduled tutoring (typically 1 or 2 sessions per week, 1, 1.5, or 2h per session): For new students, I offer an introductory 1h session at a discounted rate of $30; subsequent tutoring sessions are then $40 per hour. Please note that I currently only accept cash payment from new students (receipts can be provided). Intermittent tutoring: Planning to cram for an exam? I also offer focussed private (one student), semi-private (two students), or group (three to five students) study sessions at the Maple Ridge Public Library during their normal open hours, at the following rates: 2h private session $90 (3h session $130) 2h semi-private session $70 per student (3h session $100 per student) 2h group study sessions $60 per student (3h session $80 per student) Please make any requests for a focussed session at least 48h in advance, and include the number of students to attend and a summary of the material to be covered (subject, grade level, and specific topics).
