Additional Info: I'm an experienced and enthusiastic language arts tutor, ready to help you achieve your academic goals.

I also teach the language sections of standardized tests like the GRE, the LSAT, the SAT, and the GED. I achieved perfect scores on the verbal parts of the GRE and SAT.

I can also help you:

*craft a great college application essay
*boost your test scores
*do college-level work in AP English
*master the basic types of academic essays, and how to write excellent ones.
*understand the grammar concepts that you need in order to thrive in high school and college
*learn to read critically and follow arguments (essential skills for college)
*write great essays for college courses in the humanities and social sciences
*amaze your friends and teachers with fantastic class presentations.
*improve your study skills so you can achieve more with less effort.

I love seeing my students grow and excel. As a teacher, I combine high standards with a positive, supportive attitude. I expect my students to work hard and do their very best. I believe learning should be a positive experience (and fun as much as possible.) I'm committed to nurturing each client's strengths and self-confidence. I'm always happy to answer questions and review material as many times as you'd like me to.

In our first session, we'll articulate your needs and discuss your learning style. Together, we'll create a clear and manageable plan for accomplishing your goals. After each session, I'll assign challenging homework to help you master new skills quickly.

Most of my students are in high school, college, or in graduate programs. I do also work with elementary-aged students, and I'm a certified Montessori elementary school teacher.

I have a master's degree in history from St. Andrews University, Scotland and a B.A. with honors in comparative literature from the University of California. I achieved perfect scores on the verbal sections of the GRE and the SAT. I have a strong background in linguistics, rhetoric, Shakespeare, and European history.

Get in touch today, and let's start working on your personalized plan for success.
