I have a BA in English Language and Literature from Smith College, a BS in Pre-med Studies from UMass, and an MD from NYMC. I graduated from medical school Alpha Omega Alpha, the top 10% of the graduating class. Smith College was consistantly rated in the top 10 of private colleges when I studied there. I am eminently qualified to tutor in writing analytical papers. Although I do not have degrees in math, biology, or chemistry specifically, I feel that I am qualified to tutor in these subjects given the depth of my studies in these subjects and my medical degree. I also studied music for 3 years at New England Conservatory while in high school in their Gifted and Talented program, and haved performed both as an amateur and a professional musician. As a Psychiatrist I certainly am qualified to tutor basic psychology. I have primarily taught medical students, however I am an excellent teacher in that I understand how to impart knowledge to others by engaging students in the learning process. My students always got high honors, the medical school equivalent of an "A", in the subjects I taught. I have also prepared and presented grand rounds to other professionals, which is essentially a lecture series. Therefore I am qualified not only in knowledge of subject but also in capacity to teach. Having had a great deal of experience as a student, I can say that I enjoy helping students improve their skills and knowledge, and I am an excellent teacher. |
