Additional Info:	As a qualified teacher I have experience in teaching and tutoring in most subject across the primary phase. I have in-school and tutoring experience with preparing children for their chosen secondary schools. I am able to offer specialised tuition in the normal eleven plus disciplines (VR, non VR, English and Maths) as well as interview preparation for independent school entry. I also provide support and/ or extension in the other primary subjects as well as preparation for Common Entrance and English at KS3. Sessions are tailored to suit the needs of the individual and in most cases homework activities will be set. Until now all my tutoring work has been by recommendation. I have been very lucky to receive many requests from the parents of the children who attend the school where I have teach and I have also tutored the children of staff members. I am looking now to build up my 1:1 tutoring - hence my appearance on this website. My sessions are tailored specifically to suit the needs of the individual learner with a view to building up confidence as well as skills. I believe that the sessions should be focused but also enjoyable. Sessions are charged by the hour. In some cases parents choose to book 1 1/2 hours particularly for eleven plus preparation but this is a matter of personal choice, I generally work from home so that resources are to hand, particularly if the lesson needs to be adapted due to unexpected progress or the need for further reinforcement. Of course, in some circumstances, I will travel to the learner`s home and would be happy to negotiate a rate based upon the distance and time travelled. The first session/consultation that I offer is provided free of charge. This will help to establish whether the learning relationship between myself, the learner and his/her parents would be effective. Please do not hesitate to contact me without obligation.
