Additional Info:	Currently teaching third grade and tutoring students from kindergarten through college age, I am committed to helping as many students as I possibly can by breaking down topics and making them easier to understand. My students tell me that I do this in a fun, enjoyable way. My tutoring program provides personalized attention and customized learning activities that target problem areas. Activities are differentiated, so I don't always stick to the same activity. Staying with one activity doesn’t work! It is my job to find out what works best for your child. If one learns better visually, lessons will be visual. If you are more of an auditory learner, then lessons will have an auditory focus. I am NOT the teacher that stays with one activity that doesn't work. If I find that a written activity is unsuccessful, then on to the next activity! Perhaps a poster instead of an essay. I do not waste time finding what works for students. Some activities have included: Dry erase boards Flash cards Posters Games like Bingo or Tic-Tac Toe Writing stories and essays Using ipad apps with worksheets Reading out loud or together Puzzles Sorting and matching activities Workbooks and worksheets (most created by me, based on your student’s individual level) ...and more! I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English from Centenary University of New Jersey and a Master’s degree in English from National University of California. I am a certified teacher in New Jersey with 9 years of experience in public, private, and parochial school classrooms and 11 years of experience tutoring students of all ages. It is important that a tutor be in contact with a parent, so you will know at the end of every session what was covered, how your child performed, and where we will go from there. Additionally, you will be kept apprised of any practice assignments, homework, or practice tests your student was or will be given to assist him or her in reaching their academic goal. All elementary subjects are covered, as well as middle, high school, and college-level English. I have helped many students to reach their potential over the years. Students have come back to me years later, commenting on specific lessons that I have taught that "stuck" with them. I absolutely love hearing from the students I have helped. Tutoring sessions last one hour, unless otherwise discussed. Sessions take place either at your home or at the nearest public library. Small group sessions are also available at either location. Small group sessions cap at 3 students unless the students are from the same class at school. Rates are reduced per student in a small group session. I offer pricing specials for multiple sessions per week and for family members who are also seeking tutoring. These prices last for the entirety of our teaching/learning relationship, even if you pause for a while and start tutoring with me again later! Contact me for more information on these specials.
